T he paper introduced the basic principle ,features and construction method of the mine tran‐sient electromagnetic method.In a construction of a railway roadway in the mine shaft bottom of Zhao‐jia Block in No.5 Mine of Yangquan Coal Industry Group ,the geophysical exploration method was ap‐plied to the advance detection of the water bearing in the front strata of the heading face.The drilling exploration and verification w as conducted on the detection results and the accuracy of the geophysical exploration results was verified.The practices showed that the mine transient electromagnetic method was high in the construction efficiency and simple in the operation and could efficiently detect the wa‐ter bearing conditions of the roof and floor in front of the mine roadway heading face to provide the protection of the construction safety.
