全人教育是二十世纪二十年代兴起的一种教育思潮，主张教育要注重人的全面协调发展。香港大学的“舍堂教育”是全人教育理念导向下的教育实践，通过完善的设施和管理制度、各具特色的舍堂文化、寓教于乐的舍堂活动，对学生进行德、智、体、美、群等方面的教育。这一实践对内地高校宿舍改善育人环境、发挥育人功能具有借鉴意义。

Holistic education, a philosophy of education prevailing in 1920s, advocates that education should focus on whole-person development. Hall education, practiced by Hong Kong University, is rightly the manifestation of this educational philosophy. The University provides services and facilities to ensure that students have a comfortable, inter-esting, and rewarding campus experience, and enjoy an overall sense of well-being. The paper believes that this prac-tice is very useful for the university in mainland China to improve living-learning communities and contribute to the intellectual development and global outlook of students.
