Using the summary of the lectures given in three schools in Qinghai Province as the point of departure, this paper postulates from the perspective of aesthetic education that the core value of aesthetic education consists in completing one′s personality and that it plays a key role in fostering human virtue and character.The paper also distinguishes aesthetic educa-tion from art education in general, elaborates on the significant relationship between "art and life"and suggests concrete measures to implement aesthetic education in contemporary society.
