Objective To investigate the cognition and demand of lung cancer patients during surgery in or-der to provide evidence- based for preoperative education and visits and intraoperative care. Methods A self-designed questionnaire of the cognition and the demand to patients undergoing surgery and self-rat-ing anxiety scale was used to investigate 112 cases of patients of lung cancer need for surgery. Results The effective rate of the questionnaire was 95.56%.The cognition and demand rate for each item in 88.79% of lung cancer patients undergoing surgery was over 70%.SAS scores of patients had different rate of the cognition and demand was significant difference (P <0.05).Conclusion The rate of cognition and demand of lung cancer patients during surgery is at a higher level overall, and they were accompanied by moderate or severe anxiety. In order to meet the cognition and demand of lung cancer patients during surgery and reduce their preoperative anxiety, the measures in the preoperative visits and intraoperative care would be improved in the future work for ensuring the safety and effectiveness of surgery.
