According to the design of bilge keels on several ships, this paper compares the relevant regulations, and carries out the preliminary calculation and the analysis upon them. It discusses the application scope of the bilge keel load equation and calculates the possible emergence slamming load of the bilge keel on a ship. Based on its structural features, it summaries the issues that should be noted in the design, providing reference for the future design of bilge keels.
