我国正在加快产业转型升级，科技服务业作为现代服务业的重要分支，已成为社会和各级政府重点扶持发展的领域。通过对现有科技服务业内涵、特征和分类现状的分析，提出了根据科技服务工作所处科技创新不同阶段进行分类的方法，将科技服务业分为科技研发服务、科技中介服务和科技应用服务三类，并简要评述了三类服务业多个代表性业态的发展现状。这种分类方法为科技服务业的统计提供了清晰的分类标准，有利于对科技服务业发展分类的指导和政策扶持。
