This paper introduces the different types of the submerged floating tunnel ( SFT ) , lists the various layouts of the tethers of the tethered submerged floating tunnel, and makes a comparison of differences among the types and layouts respectively, with the purpose of putting forward some basic problems which should be paid more attention to when selecting the types of submerged floating tunnel, and finally taking Qiongzhou strait as an example, throws out a suggestion on the appropriate type of submerged floating tunnel through the strait.
