As national top S&T priorities,national major S&T programs and projects are sponsored by governments with public funds as main financial sources.Therefore,it is a management issue of how to exercise efficient supervision and e-valuation so as to maximize the benefits of public funds.This paper explores the supervision and evaluation of major S&T programs and projects in the United States,analyzes the challenges and problems facing our country’ s major S&T pro-jects,and finally gives some policy suggestions for enhancing and improving our supervision and evaluation practices of ma-jor S&T projects.
