陶渊明、谢灵运均是晋宋时期的重要诗人，学界对陶渊明形象的研究较为多见，而有关谢灵运的形象分析却几乎无人涉及。事实上，由陶谢诗文引发出的诗人形象可以从其对异时异境中自我行貌的勾勒中还原其外在轮廓。同时，陶谢行貌的差异又受到其心理以及肯定自我价值的深刻影响。陶谢所选择的意象群也是对自我形象的一种转换。他们所建构的形象是多层面的，陶渊明的飘逸中带有对生命流逝的反思以及坚定不移的理想追寻，并通过意象的构建突出人之为人的责任与担当；谢灵运并非只是旷达而无行动，他是在徘徊中寻找自我的道路。他们代表了这一时期士人心路历程的两种方向以及两种形象层。

Tao Yuanming and Xie Lingyun were very important poets in Jin and Song dynasties.Many researchers studied the image of Tao Yuanming,but few concerned about Xie Lingyun's.In fact,the images coming from their poetic prose reduced external appearance from their own action and appear-ance outlined at different times and different scenarios.At the same time,the differences between their own action and appearance deeply influenced by their psychology and affirming self-worth.Tao and Xie's image choices were the transformation of the self images.The images constructed by them were mul-tifaceted.Possessing natural grace,Tao took reflection on the passage of the life as well as the firm and unshakable ideal pursuit through the construction of image extruded human responsibility.Xie was not only broad-minded,but also looking for the road of self in hesitation.They represented the two di-rections and two kinds of image layer in this period of the scholar-bureaucrat.
