文章选取新疆医科大学非英语专业80名维吾尔族民考民大学生，从语言类型学的角度，对其在英语关系从句学习过程中是否能正确地设定中心语位置和关系从句语序以及语言迁移问题进行了考察。结果表明：维吾尔族学生在习得英语关系从句中心语前置参数方面会受到来自母语和二语的负迁移，从而较难习得。与此相比较，维吾尔族学生在习得汉语中心语置后的参数方面会受到来自母语的正迁移从而容易习得。学习者英语语言水平也是影响其关系小句习得的重要因素，高水平英语学习者可以克服语言负迁移进而重设中心语参数。

This study examines the transfer in the acquisition of relative clause in a second (L2) and third language (L3), focusing specially on the acquisition of English relative clause by native speakers of Uyghur who are L2 learners of Chinese. The results confirmed that the strongest effect comes from L2 Chinese, both positive and negative, and L2 Chinese seems to inhibit L3 English learning in cases when English and Chinese relative clause differ in branching directions and word order. L1 Uyghur was also positively and negatively transferred into L2 Chinese as the word order of the relative clause in the two languages differ. This conclusion may facilitate the English teaching of those Uyghur college students.
