In the Tatay Hydropower Station of Cambodia , overstep tripping of the differential protection in the main transformer is observed .Possible reasons of this fault is analyzed .Corresponding treatment measures are then proposed , such as the connection of the high-voltage current of the station high-voltage transformer to the differential protection of the main transformer , and the setting adjustment of the 10 kV feeder line protection and the over-current protection of the station high-voltage transformer .It could be a useful reference for hydropower stations with similar problems .
