西方社区教育是西方高等教育的主要形式之一，它从各个方面展现出来对人的生涯性的尊重是其最主要的优势和特色。关注人、重视人、发展人、提升人的品质是西方社区教育的核心思想，也应该成为我国职业教育追求的目标之一。当前，我国职业教育的发展驶入了＂正规＂，职业教育的价值定位于＂人＂已经成为共识，但总体来看，职业教育在人的生涯发展方面所具有的重要作用没有受到应有的重视，职业教育应该追求人的生涯性发展，职业教育应该重视终身学习，职业教育应该追求个人品质的提升，职业教育应该追求为成人学习服务。

Western Community Education is one of the main forms in Western Higher Education,whose superiority and characteristic is to reveal the respecting on personal career in all aspects.The core concept of Western Community Education which should become one of the goals for our country's vocational education is to focus on people,to pay attention to people,to develop people and to promote the quality of people.Currently,the development of vocational education in our country has entered normalization.It has become a consensus that the value orientation of vocational education is on “people”.However,it arose less attention on the significance of personal career development in our country's vocational education.For vocational education,it should aim to personal career development,attach importance to lifelong learning, and be bent on the promotion of personal quality and servicing for adult learning.
