基于新时期图书编辑出版工作形势的变化，文章对编辑的能力及素养进行了认真探究；认为好编辑应该是硬度、刻度、深度、温度、软度“五度俱全”的人，也应该是具有沟通能力、写作能力、计算能力、组织能力、审美能力、吸收过滤能力等综合能力“六能乃大”的人；而编辑个人刻苦向上的自觉意识，出版单位引导、激励和奖勤罚懒、优胜劣汰的政策环境是好编辑能力养成的关键。
기우신시기도서편집출판공작형세적변화，문장대편집적능력급소양진행료인진탐구；인위호편집응해시경도、각도、심도、온도、연도“오도구전”적인，야응해시구유구통능력、사작능력、계산능력、조직능력、심미능력、흡수과려능력등종합능력“륙능내대”적인；이편집개인각고향상적자각의식，출판단위인도、격려화장근벌라、우성렬태적정책배경시호편집능력양성적관건。
Based on the demands and challenges for the book editors in the new era ,this paper discus‐ses w hat skills and competence that are needed by an editor .It is concluded that a good editor can be defined as decisive ,precise ,far‐reaching ,patient and tolerant .A good editor should also master six crucial skills including communication skill ,mathematical skill ,writing skill ,organizational skill , aesthetic skill and refining skill .On the personal level ,an editor should be hard working ,and always striving for improvements .As for the press ,not only the guidance should be provided ,but a rewards and punishment system should be established , so that a competitive environment can be created , which will give the editors more motives to improve themselves .
