Mona Baker的叙事理论来源于社会学和认知学相关的叙事概念，走出了翻译文本比对和翻译等值的研究视角。文章通过对Mona Baker叙事理论的追本溯源，厘清其叙事理论的发展过程，指出在翻译研究中应用叙事理论的难点，讨论如何辩证地看待其中的有些理论及观点，并展望叙事理论和翻译学在未来发展的新接面。

Drawing on sociological and cognitive strands of narrative theory,Baker’s narrative theory en?ables scholars to look beyond comparison between the ST and the TT and the notion of translation equiva?lence. This paper gives a detailed introduction to the development of the narrative theory,points out potential challenges of applying its analytical tools, and discusses the new interfaces between narrative theory and translation studies in the future.
