甲基橙是还原性试剂,在可见光区吸收强度高;碘酸根是强氧化剂,在酸性介质中,两者定量反应。过量的甲基橙的吸光度与碘酸根的量成线性关系,据此可测定加碘盐中的碘含量。线性范围是(1.00~13.00)×10-6 g/mL,和经典的化学法结果吻合。

The methyl orange is a reducing reagent.It has a strong absorption in visible area.Iodate ion is a strong oxidizer.The methyl orange and Iodate root quantitative reaction in acid medium.The relationship between absorptivity of excessive methyl orange with iodate is linear.It's linear range is from 1.00 to 13.0 ×10 -6 g/ml,it is accord with the classical results of chemical method well.
