A design of the data acquisition unit in the GPS/INS integrated navigation system is introduced,and its test result is analyzed. This data acquisition unit utilizes MSP430,a low power consuming single chip microcomput-er,as its controller. It can collects the output of three-channel accelerometers by using a eight-channel DAS with 18-bit simultaneous sampling ADC,AD7609,and receives the output data from three digital fiber-optic gyroscopes with a XR16V554 serial port expansion and a GPS receiver through the MSP430’s serial port. After being packaged by the microcomputer,the collected data will be transferred to a navigation computer via a serial port and be resolved. Test result shows that the maximum standard deviation of one hour sampling data(@1 Hz) which can characterize the three-channel A/D quantification noise is 1.76 μgn,it’s superior to the bias instability of the accelerometers, which its performance index is 50 μgn( the standard deviation of one hour sampling data(@1 Hz) ) . The data ac-quisition unit can simultaneously receive the output signal of a gyroscope and a GPS receiver based on serial com-munication and transmit all acquired signals correctly.
