The general situation and drive control requirements of main drilling machinery for oil drilling equipment are summarized, and some control technologies are compared. The control strategies and the reactive power compensation, harmonic suppression, field-bus communication as well as PLC technologies for drilling rig small grid system are studied. The commonly used power devices and the development trend of the drilling-rig control technologies is also introduced.
