This paper expounds the definition of the volunteer and volunteer service, and taking Zhuhai Library as an example, probes into the operation mode and management mechanism of the cooperation between public library and volunteer organization, analyzes the significance and function of introducing volunteer service into public library, and points out some challenges faced by the sustainable development of volunteer work.
