Annong 9 is ordinary maize variety bred up by inbred line SX0513 of Anhui Agricultural Univer?sity and Suzhou Academy of Agricultural Sciences as female parent,other line SX5229 as male parent in 2005. Through Anhui province Maize Variety screening test,regional test and production test from 2008 to 2011,the comprehensive performance of the variety is outstanding. The paper introduced the breeding and the main characteristics of new maize variety Annong No.9,and proposed the high yield cultivation tech?niques.
