将文献研究方法和人类学田野调查方法相结合，以萧郭李三姓为调查中心，明晰了水上居民来赣南定居的族源历史与现实分布，重点调查了在赣水上居民独特的生产习俗、特殊的禁忌习俗以及与岸上陆地居民之间的交往习俗。本次调查研究，不但让人了解了水上居民的历史，更是将水上居民独特的生产生活习俗展现在世人眼前。然而，随着现代化进程相伴而生的是诸多生存困境，随着大量水上居民弃船登陆，这一独特的群体及其独特的文化正在逐渐凋零。

Combine with the literature research methods and anthropological fieldwork methods, taking the Xiao Guo Li three names for the investigation center, the ethnic origin history and the distribution of aquatic residents of Gannan were clarified, and the survey focused on unique producing customs, special taboos and the exchange customs with the residents living in the land for the aquatic inhabitants. Through this research, not only can people understand the history of aquatic inhabitants, but also the special producing and living customs for the aquatic inhabitants were presented to the world. However, with the modernization, a lot of difficulties to survive appeared. As a large amount of aquatic inhabitants gave up the boat and began to live in the land, the special group and its unique culture is gradually dying out.
