The authors summarized the experience of experimental teaching in environmental engineering in China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), and highlighted that the core task of experimental teaching in environmental engineering in coal university is to cultivate the innovation spirit and practice ability of the students. The reform of experimental teaching in environmental engineering in coal university was also investigated in different aspects, including renovating teaching philosophy, introducing research projects relevant to environmental protection in mining area, conducting innovative experiments relating to the pollution control in coal mine area, and developing practice base.
