Objective:The ABCD2 score has been used to predict subsequent risk of acute stroke in patients with transient ischemic attack (TIA).This is because the ABCD2 score can distinguish TIA from other diseases. The thesis is to study whether this score can identify cerebrovas-cular disease in patients with dizziness. Methods: Patients with dizziness, vertigo or imbalance were divided into the cerebrovascular disease group ( including TIA, acute cerebral infarction and cerebral hemorrhage ) and the noncerebrovascular disease group based on the different causes of dis-ease.All the selected patients were graded by using the ABCD2 score , with their clinical characteristics compared between the two groups.Result:828 patients with dizziness were chosen in this study , 46 of whom belonged to the cerebrovascular disease group .Compared with the patients in the noncerebrovascular disease group, those with cerebrovascular disease more frequently had hypertension, coronary artery disease , atrial fibrillation and previous stroke.Besides, the scores of Patients with cerebrovascular disease on admission were higher than those with noncerebrovascular dis-ease.Conclusion:The reason why the ABCD2 scores of the patients with erebrovascular disease are higher than those with noncerebrovascular dis-ease is that ABCD2 score contains significant diagnostic information , which can be used to distinguish cerebrovascular disease from noncerebrovas-cular disease.
