Gastroesophageal reflux disease ( GERD) is a common disease of digestive diseases .In recent years , the technique of 24-hour esophageal multichannel intraluminal impedance monitoring combined with pH -metry ( MII-pH) di-vide reflux events into acid reflux , weakly acid reflux and weakly alkaline reflux .In this article , definitions of three types of reflux , the mechanism of GERD , and the treatment of GERD will be summarized as follows .
