The exploration and utilization of geological resources, the problem of geo-environment, the monitoring situation and the relevant problems were described in the paper, as well as the perceptions of the administrative method of the geo-environment monitoring work. Besides the geological calamity, the groundwater environment, the mine geo-environment and the geological relics, the geo-environment monitoring objects include the active faults, the soil geo-environment, the utilization inlfuence of geothermal and shallow geothermal energy, and the inlfuence of major construction projects. The conceptions of the geo-environmental monitoring system and its network in Beijing were also presented.
