The structure of underwater compression system and the latest development in Ormen Lange of Norway are discussed in this paper. Underwater compression system can be applied for initial stage of an oilfield to explore distant margins or for later stage to improve recovery of the oilfield, so it is regarded as the future of underwater technology.
