Google Earth已被广泛应用于各种大中型工程的规划设计、施工管理当中，由于Google Earth只识别包含WGS84空间大地坐标系的KML文件，而国内绝大部分工程施工中采用的坐标系均为平面直角坐标系，不能直接导入Google Earth，从而给Google Earth在工程中的正常应用带来不便。为了使Google Earth能更好的应用于大中型工程中，利用Coord和GISOffice等软件将工程中的平面坐标系坐标数据转换为WGS84大地坐标系数据，再按需求导出为可在Google Earth使用的KML文件。

Google Earth has been applied in all kinds of large engineering planning, design, construction and management. Google Earth only identify the KML file containing WGS84 space geodetic coordinate system instead of plane rectangular coordinate system in most construction in China, which can’t be introduced directly to Google Earth, hence hinder the application of it. In order to make the Google Earth can be better applied to large engineering, Coord and GISOffice software are used to convert the data of coordinate plane coordinate system to that of the WGS84 coordinate system, the KML file are derived as required that can be used in Google Earth.
