This paper discussed the lighting design of a stadium at aspects of brightness distribution,source selecting, glare and strobe controlling,and arrangement of illumination lamps.It is pointed out that LED source is a preferred choice, which not only meets the lighting requirements but also achieves the energy saving.The arrangement of illumination lamps should use the sky star lighting way to protect the illumination uniformity and stereoscopic impression of stadium.
