︰北京是中国奶牛养殖的传统优势区域之一，是都市奶牛养殖业发展的典型代表。目前北京地区已经形成了以顺义﹑通州﹑大兴和房山等区(县)为主的京南奶牛产业带和以延庆﹑密云和怀柔等区(县)为主的京北奶牛产业带。但受资源﹑环境﹑政策﹑成本高企等因素影响，北京奶牛养殖业进一步发展的“瓶颈”凸显。奶牛作为《北京种业发展规划(2010￣2015年)》中的16个重点种业优势品种之一，在北京乃至全国的种业发展中占据重要地位。

Beijing is one of the traditional advantage regions of dairy breeding in China, as well as a typical representative of the urban dairy breeding industry development. Nowadays, Beijing has already formed two dairy cattle industry areas, one is the southern dairy cattle industry area which is based on Shunyi, Tongzhou, Daxing and Fangshan districts etc., the other is the northern dairy cattle industry area which is based on Yanqing, Miyun and Huairou districts etc.. But due to the influences of resources, environment, policies and high costs, the further development of Beijing dairy breeding industry is meeting a bottleneck. As one of the sixteen key advantage varieties of the seed industry mentioned in the , dairy cattle has occupied an important position of the seed industry development in Beijing and even across the country.
