I select the fictions of Alice Munro who is the one of the Nobel Prize winners,those characters include Miss Heidi in“Who Do You Think You Are?”, Mrs. Jamieson in “Runaway”, Mr. Grant in “The bear came over the mountain” and others. By analyzing their images, I found that they are very knowledgeable, understanding and reasonable as well. They are all excellent individuals. However, they are caught in a similar failure and lonely situation. The real reason of this predicament is the perpetuating and unsolvable conflict between sense and sensibility.
