如果说荷马史诗开启了古希腊人崇尚血气的传统，那么后史诗时代的柏拉图在《理想国》中则用哲人的理性对血气作了新界说，血气被置于理性之下。同样的，如果说在荷马史诗中，血气因为命运的力量而难以节制，那么《理想国》中的血气因为理性的出现而变得可教。为了全面认识血气和血气教育，有必要从六个方面进行探究：何谓血气；血气教育的必要性和护卫者的品性；血气教育的内容和形式；诗歌对血气的教化；体育与血气；血气教育的两个悖论。

If it is true that Homeric Epics has established the tradition of worshipping thymos for the Greek,then by placing thymos under the rational part of soul,Plato proposed new clarifications for thymos with rationality of philosophy in Republic in post-Homer era. Similarly,if it is true that temperance of thymos is unrealistic because of the force of des-tiny,then in Republic thymos is likely to be nurtured with the presence of rationality. This article discusses thymos and e-ducation of thymos in Republic in six aspects:what is thymos; the necessity of education of thymos and virtues of de-fendants; the form and content of education of thymos; nurture of thymos in poetry; sports and thymos; two paradox-es of education of thymos.
