Atrial fibrillation is the most common sustained arrhythmia seen in the clinical setting.It accounts for the majority of ar-rhythmia-related doctors’ visits and hospitalization, and is associated with reductions in activity, quality of life, cardiac function, and over-all survival.Currently, the main treatments for atrial fibrillation are antiarrhythmic drugs and radiofrequency ablation.Recent clinical re-search has demonstrated that the cryoballoon catheter ablation for PV isolation is an effective and safe treatment for atrial fibrillation.This re-view will discuss the recent progress of cryoballoon ablation in artial fibrillation.
