Autonomous learning is an advocated teaching mode in current English educational reform. This thesis focuses on the study of a real classroom, trying to combine the "autonomous learning"teaching mode with the interactive group work teaching mode. It aims to explore a practical English teaching method that accords with students' learning level. The result shows that this teaching method can effectively mobilize classroom atmosphere, activate students' interest in English study, and enhance the ef-fect of learning, so as to improve their English proficiency.
