许多反应英语深层文化的抽象名词具有与其汉语对等词不同的文化内涵,且这些抽象名词经常出现在大学英语教材中,对文章的深层理解造成了很大影响。根据文化教学的实用性与相关性原则,在大学英语教学中,结合文章中出现的具有文化内涵的抽象名词与文章内容导入深层文化的教学,既有利于学生对文章的深层理解,也有利于培养学生的跨文化交际能力。根据知名学者提出的文化教学方法并结合作者的教学经验,作者采用了三种切实可行的通过抽象名词导入深层文化的方法:以问题-解决的方式帮助学生发现文化差异、对比法和讲解法。

Many abstract nouns reflecting deep culture in English have different cultural connotations from their Chinese counterparts, and such abstrct words often appear in the College English textbooks, which causes great influence on students’ deep understanding of the articles. According to the principle of utility and the principle of relevance in culture teaching, in College English teaching, the lead-ing-in of deep culture should be united with abstract nouns that have cultural connotations and the contents of the articles. That would be conducive to students’ deep understanding of the articles as well as to the cultivation of students’ intercltural communicative com-petence. Based on the methods of culture teaching proposed by some famous scholars and the author’s experience in teaching, three me-thods are quite feasible for leading in the deep culture in English through abstract nouns:use problem-solving skills to help students dis-cover culthre, comparason and explanation.
