Objective:To investigate the effect of epalrestat on promoting wound healing in patients with diabetic foot .Methods:60 cases of diabetic foot were randomly divided into the control group and the observation group , with 30 cases in each group. Both groups were given the treat-ment of insulin, controlling infection, improving minicirculation, and routine rinsing and dressing change, but epalrestat was only administered ad-ditionally to the observation group, which lasted for 2 months. The total effective rate, the reduction situation of wound area and wound healing time were compared between the two groups. Results:The total effective rate, the reduction of wound area and wound healing time were significantly bet-ter in the observation group than those in the control group (86.7% vs.63.3%, (81.6 ±6.7)% vs.(52.4 ±6.2)%, (24.5 ±4.3) d vs. (32.7 ±4.8)d, P <0.05).Conclusion:There is a significant effect of epalrestat on promoting wound healing in patients with diabetic foot.
