当前我国中小学生法律意识的培养受到广泛关注。美国的法治教育具有悠久的历史。法治教育得到联邦政府政策和经费的支持；学校寻求懂法律的社会人士的支持；教师整合各种资源，精心设计与课程内容相关的案例激发学生思考、讨论，根据不同年龄的学生采用适合学生发展的教学方法；家长引导孩子认识基本社会规则和法律知识。美国中小学法治教育的做法，能为我国中小学法治教育提供有益借鉴。
