以某医院住院部大楼的改造设计为例，通过对现有房屋的检测和鉴定以及经济性和工期等因素的分析，完成了对结构整体体系和框架梁、框架柱以及剪力墙等构件的加固设计，为我国早期非抗震设计结构按照现有规范要求改造提供了一些经验。
