高校学生写作能力培养方面出现了不少问题。一方面是“写作学”淡出了中国语言文学的二级学科，另一方面则是随着社会政治经济的转型和文化创意产业发展，出现了文学写作、应用写作和创意写作三分天下的格局。而在高校写作教学中，以上海大学为例，也存在门数众多但分布不均、理论有余而训练不足、教学粗放缺乏精耕等特点，以及在师资队伍、教学方法、运行经费等方面的诸多问题。因此，有必要进一步明确发展方向，设计落地方案，并在体制机制上获得相应的保障。同时，在写作人才培养的观念上，还需要重新认识“中文系不培养作家”的问题。
