Becoming Jane, directed by Julian Jarrold, attracts more and more attention for the similar filming style with John Madden's Shakespeare in Love. In both films, Shakespeare is the hero in his own play, while Austen is the heroine in her own novel. The countless clues of intertextuality exist in their views and experiences of love. Both of their love stories have sad endings, but their passion becomes the inspiration of the masterpieces. The love stories in their works convert to their own biographies. The close presentation of both films shows that the actor Shakespeare paves the way for the actress Jane Austen.
