洞庭湖的径流由四水、四口和区间径流组成。除个别时段外,四水径流年内分布基本稳定,而由于下荆江裁弯、洞庭湖泥沙淤积和三峡等长江上游控制性水库的调节作用,四口径流呈逐渐减少的趋势,并且逐渐向汛期集中,洞庭湖径流的变化主要受四口径流变化的影响。采用5(95)%百分位年径流基本能反映洞庭湖年径流极端洪、旱阀值,为避免在极端径流情况下洞庭湖出现洪、旱灾害,需采取以长江和四水上游建库为主、洞庭湖蓄水为辅的工程措施和非工程措施相结合,加强对洞庭湖径流的调节作用。

The Dongting Lake runoff is composed of four water ,four mouth and interval runoff .In addition to individual sessions , the distribution of four water runoff is basically stable in the year .But four mouth flow decreased and concentrated to the flood sea‐son gradually ,because of Lower Jingjiang cut off ,sediment deposition in the Dongting Lake and regulation function of controlling reservoir in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River like Three Gorges .So change of runoff in Dongting Lake is mainly affected by four mouth flow .The 5 (95)% percent of annual runoff can basically reflect the extreme flood ,drought threshold of the annual run‐off of Dongting Lake .To avoid the emergence of Dongting Lake flood ,drought disasters in extreme runoff conditions ,the regulation of the Dongting Lake runoff should be strengthened by combining of engineering measures and non-structural measures ,such as the upper reaches of the Yangtze River and four water reservoirs built mainly and water supplemented in the Dongting Lake .
