隐喻是通过另一类事体来理解和经历一类事体的普遍认知工具,其认知基础是体验,与文化密不可分,是语言与文化的一个结合点。语言中的隐喻是隐喻思维在语言中的体现。外语教师可以利用隐喻的体验性和文化认知特性,将语言教学、隐喻教学和文化教学结合起来,利用隐喻的文化同质性向学生解释人类文化的共核部分,利用隐喻的文化异质性解释不同文化间的差异,以帮助学生习得目的语文化并促进其跨文化交际能力的提高。

Metaphor is a general cognitive tool of understanding and experiencing one kind of thing in terms of another ;it is cog-nitively based on bodily experience , closely related to culture and is a combining point between language and culture .Linguistic metaphors are a reflection of metaphorical thinking .Foreign language teachers can make use of the experiential nature and the cul -tural features of metaphor , and integrate language teaching , metaphor teaching and culture teaching with each other ,explaining to students the common part of human culture by its cultural homogeneity and the differences between different cultures by its cultural heterogeneity , to help students acquire the target culture and improve their intercultural communicative competence .
