改革开放以来，中国社会矛盾与阶层对立随着经济增长日益显现，官民对立、强弱对立、善恶对立等对立事件成为人们关注的焦点。网络事件能迅速扩散与事件本身被框架为“对立事件”有直接关系。少部分能脱颖而出的网络事件正是采用了二元对立框架事件的策略，以契合网民的现实社会情绪，刺激事件迅速扩散形成网络舆情。
