人们常用“寺庙”来泛指佛教寺院，罕对“寺”“庙”二者进行辨异。笔者此文重在考察寺、庙的本义和历史变迁，并指出“寺”“庙”的结合是外来佛教和中国本土文化相结合的一个见证，也是佛教中国化过程中的重要特征。
인문상용“사묘”래범지불교사원，한대“사”“묘”이자진행변이。필자차문중재고찰사、묘적본의화역사변천，병지출“사”“묘”적결합시외래불교화중국본토문화상결합적일개견증，야시불교중국화과정중적중요특정。
People often use "temple" to refer to Buddhist temples, rarely distinguish "temple" and "temple".
