The integrity of fuel assemblies has great influences on the safety and economy of PWR nuclear power plants (PWRs). Because of the special working environment (high temperature, high pressure and intense radiation), fuel assemblies would inevitably face failures, and then degenerate during the operation of PWRs. Management of fuel assembly failures should start from the daily state detection. When fuel assemblies are found failure, they should be repaired or replaced in avoiding of more unsafe trouble and economic loss. It is necessary to develop a management strategy of the failed fuel assemblies in PWRs.
