王阳明的一生,不是把追求功名利禄,建立“事功”放在第一位,而是要做一个“大圣人”,追求道德修养人格的完善,并且把自己所学的一点一滴教给众人,让“人人心中有定盘针”,目的是“好将吾道从吾党,归把渔竿东海湾”,不愧为中国历史上集大成式的哲学家。在教育上王阳明堪称一代宗师,他重视人才,认为“今天下事势如沉疴积痿,所望起死回生者,实有在于诸君子。”他身体力行,文韬武略,卓有建树,他在立德、立言、立功皆居绝顶,即所谓“真三不朽”“兼三不朽”。他所采用的许多教学原则和教育理念以及教学方法,对现代教育的发展和对学生素质教育提升仍具有积极的借鉴作用。

Throughout his lifetime,Wang Yangming did not pursuit fame and fortune,and did not place“feats”in the first place;instead,he was determined to become the “big saint”.He aimed at the perfecting of morality and personality and taught every bit of his knowledge to other people,so that“everybody knows the cri-teria for morality”,and aimed to “teach what he knew to his students and devote himself to the country”.He is worthy of the master of ceremony philosopher in Chinese history.On education,Wang Yangming was called gen-eration master.He stressed on talents,believing that“Today there are lots of problems in the society.If we hope to get all of them resolved,we have to find out talents and lay expectations on them”.He was physically well, and good at civil and military affairs.He made great achievements,outstanding in realizing his morality,his words and his successes-the so-called “three true immortal deeds”and “three immortalities”.Many of the teaching principles and philosophy of education,and the teaching methods that he applied are still of active refer-ence to the development of modern education and to the promotion of quality education for students.
