The author introduces the structure, characteristics and analysis technical principle of rDNA ITS ( Internal Tran-scribed Spacer) sequence, summarizes the application of rDNA ITS sequence in the studies on the fungal diseases of fruit tree, such as the genetic relationships among various pathogenic fungal species, the detection of pathogenic fungi, and the identification of un-known pathogenic fungi, and finally discusses the applied prospects of rDNA ITS sequence.
