This paper reviews the current research of drill pipe steel chemical composition and heat treatment process in recent years, statis-tically analyzes drill pipe steel composition which has been achieved main stream large-scale industrialization, summarizes the heat treatment process and properties of drill pipe steel, provides technical supports for drill pipe steel standard.
