The grids currently used in battery manufacturers are of side lug or off-set lug structure. How to improve the performance at high rate discharge and the utilization of active material have been paid much attention in the grid structure change. This paper mainly introduces the design of a plate grid with a middle lug and to explore its assembly process for the battery structure change and good performanc based on the minimum change both in the original battery material and the cost.
