河南省全国第一次地理国情普查于2013年正式开展，旨在掌握自然地理要素、人文要素的空间分布情况，揭示经济社会发展和自然资源环境的空间分布规律，实现地理国情信息对政府、企业和公众的服务，为国家战略规划制定、空间规划管理、区域政策制定、灾害预警、科学研究和为社会公众服务等提供有力保障。项目过程中在组织、设计、推进等诸多方面值得思考和优化。

The first national geography census in Henan Province was officially carried out in 2013, which aimed at mastering the spatial distribution of natural geography elements and humane factors, and re?vealing the spatial distribution rules of economical society development and natural resources environment, so as to realize the service of geographical information for government, enterprises and the public, and to provide a powerful guarantee for national strategy planning, spatial planning management, regional policy making, calamity warning, scientific research and social public service. During the project process, the orga?nization, design, progress and many other aspects need to be considered and optimized.
