近年来，随着《地心历险记》、《阿凡达》、《功夫熊猫》等一批数字3D影片的成功推出，获得了观众的极大青睐。特别卡梅隆执导的《阿凡达》，凭借着引人人胜的3D立体影像，为我们创造了一个美轮美奂的潘多拉星球，使观影者身临其境地进入了一个梦幻般的世界，从而获得了全球亿万观众赞赏的掌声，创造了史无前例的票房记录。与此同时，在电视领域，各家电视生产厂商都紧跟时代潮流，早早推出了各自的3D电视机产品。国家广电总局也联合包括央视在内的国内6家电视台在2012年1月1号开播了3D实验频道，每天播出13.5个小时的3D电视节目。另外一些诸如伦敦奥运会、央视春晚等大型活动也已涵盖了3D视频的播出方式，数字3D技术业已成为业界持续关注的热点技术。3D影视是影像技术发展的革命性成果，它在很大程度上提高了人们对视觉艺术的认识水平，让观众有身临其境的震撼感。
