《出三藏记集》记载了我国东汉至南朝齐梁年间的佛经翻译情况，是佛经翻译史研究的重要史料。《记集》从四个方面记录了这一时期的翻译思想和实践：僧祐从语言学和文艺学的角度对翻译的看法；译经僧们多用“出”表示翻译；佛经翻译原文多为胡本；译场的基本结构已经确定。
《출삼장기집》기재료아국동한지남조제량년간적불경번역정황，시불경번역사연구적중요사료。《기집》종사개방면기록료저일시기적번역사상화실천：승우종어언학화문예학적각도대번역적간법；역경승문다용“출”표시번역；불경번역원문다위호본；역장적기본결구이경학정。
The Catalogue of Sutra Translation is a record of sutra translation from East Han Dynasty to Qi and Liang of Southern Dynasties .It is an important historical material of the studies of sutra translation history .The Catalogue recorded the translation ideas from four aspects:Sengyou's ideas about translation from the perspectives of philology and literary theory;"chu"was used to express the meaning of translation;the source text of sutra translation was mainly Hu language;the basic structure of translation workshop was established .
